Resulta que grub2 (con lo bien que me llevaba yo con el grub normal…) no tiene timeout en el menú cuando el sistema reincia por un apagado no limpio. Es decir, si se va la corriente por ejemplo, cuando arranca de nuevo el sistema se queda esperando indefinidamente en el menú de grub, esperando a que le des a intro… genial para un server 24×7 que no tiene conectado teclado 👿
Investigando me di cuenta que se puede poner la variable GRUB_RECORDFAIL_TIMEOUT en /etc/default/grub para que esto no ocurra. Después me di cuenta que también reportaron esta característica jeje: https://code.launchpad.net/~utlemming/ubuntu/quantal/grub2/param-recordfail-timeout/+merge/107243

No olvidéis hacer update-grub para actualizar los cambios
